Motion M2015-015

Whereas the impact of wind turbines will be confined entirely to Addington Highlands Ward 1;

and Whereas a turbine project will have a large "vibrancy fund";

and Whereas the Addington Highlands Council has given no indication that they have given any consideration to the manner in which the "vibrancy fund" monies are to be disbursed;

and Whereas the constituents of Ward 1 have provided the Addington Highlands Council with the results of a petition, a secret ballot referendum and an on-line survey;

and Whereas all of the data gathered by the constituents have indicated 80% or more disapproval of wind turbine projects;

and Whereas the Councillors from Ward 1 have introduced a motion to not approve of these projects;

and Whereas the Councillors from Ward 2, where there will be no impacts at all from wind turbines, and the Reeve have acted to defeat the said motion;

now therefore be it Resolved that if a vibrancy fund comes into existence that:

the disparity between the Wards and the exclusive impact on Ward1 of the turbines should be reflected in the disbursement of any "vibrancy fund" monies;

and be it further Resolved that unless the disbursement of monies from a "vibrancy fund" will have a discernable benefit to all Addington Highlands constituents that monies from a "vibrancy fund" be distributed solely to the constituents of Ward 1.
