Whereas a democratic government exists at the pleasure of its citizens;

and Whereas a democratic government collects taxes in order to provide services and infrastructure for the common good of its citizens;

and Whereas the transferrance by a democratic government of the services and infrastructure of its citizens to private enterprises by selling the said services and infrastructure represents a direct assault on the democracy of its citizens;

and Whereas the using by a democratic government of its tax revenues to finance private infrastructure is an egregious misuse of public funds and affront to its citizens;

and Whereas paying for the construction of privately owned wind farm infrastructure under the Green Energy Act using citizen's monies from their hydro bills is an abusive and odious misuse of citizen's funds;

now therefore be it Resolved that:

the Denbigh Townhall repudiates and condemns the sale into private hands of the public services and infrastructure that constitute the operational foundation of Ontarian's democracy;

and be it further Resolved that the Denbigh Townhall repudiates and condemns the systematic and permanent transfer of public monies into private hands and the concomitant erosion of democracy that results from the sale of public services and infrastructure;

and be it further Resolved that the Denbigh Townhall calls upon the Premier of Ontario to cease and desist from transferring public services and goods to private hands through the use of "privatizatiion";

and be it further Resolved that the Denbigh Townhall calls upon the Premier of Ontario to recognize that the transfer of public goods and infrastructure to private hands diminishes the public commons and is a direct assault on the democracy of the citizen's of Ontario;

and be it further Resolved that the Denbigh Townhall calls upon the Premier of Ontario to cease and desist from making the government of Ontario into a conduit for transferring public monies to private hands;

and be it further resolved that the Denbigh Townhall calls upon the Premier of Ontario to cease and desist from eroding and diminishing Ontarian's democracy by selling the public services and infrastructure that are operational entities of Ontario's democracy into private hands;

and be it further Resolved that this resolution be sent to:

- the Premier of Ontario

- Randy Hillier, MPP

- The Municipal Corporation of Addington Highlands

- The Municipal Corporation of North Frontenac

- The Municipal Corporation of Greater Madawaska

- The Municipal Corporation of Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan

- BEARAT
